Aims of the Anglian Water Trust Fund

The Mission Statement of the Trust is:

The Anglian Water Trust Fund exists for the relief of those persons who are in condition of need, poverty, hardship or distress and aims to make a significant and sustainable improvement to the quality of life throughout the Anglian Water region.

To fulfil its Mission, the Trust has identified four Strategic Aims for its work:

  • To administer a grants programme aimed at reducing water and sewerage debt for those experiencing poverty and hardship throughout the region and to make a limited number of grants where these greatly enhance the quality of life and/or form part of a sustainable package to increase financial stability.
  • To increase and improve independent money advice services throughout the region thereby providing greater opportunities to resolve debt problems in the long term and also to support applications to the Trust where need is identified.
  • To facilitate debt prevention work aimed at raising individuals' awareness of personal financial rights and responsibilities.
  • To play a key role in the support and establishment of a network of trust funds throughout the water industry and other utilities encouraging good practice and consistency of approach on a national scale.
